The bus was legendary. The mix of people was so perfect.

We had a bartender. On the bus (Sup,Mark?). Turns out if you buy a bottle of whiskey, and you share it with the bus, everyone gets a taste. It’s like buying the bus a round. That’s a pretty good lesson, if you think about it.
We had four generations on the bus.
Yeats, Wilde, Joyce, Heaney.

The vibes were very much on point. Lee, our guide, was knowledgeable and resourceful, and so much fun. The weather was perfect and the wind was at our backs. Well… the wind was sort of everywhere at Slieve League.

On our trip, we witnessed such a special family moment. Deb and Kendall were engaged to be married, surrounded by our merry bunch, in a most picturesque place, overlooking the River Shannon.

On our trip, we dealt with the reality of a Peace Wall in Belfast. We heard stories about Belfast and Derry. We heard the sadness in the voices as they told us of the Troubles. We had a chance to see the checkpoints, the curfew gates and the wall itself. Lee brought markers so that we could add our names to the wall.

On our trip, we played two sets upstairs at the Ha’Penny Bridge Inn. There’s literally nothing like singing your favorite tunes, surrounded by friends, and looking out the window at Dublin’s most famous Liffey bridge.

On our trip, we saw each other. We also listened to one another. We drank a bunch, cried some, laughed our asses off, and shared in the experience of traveling together.
