We know that we can’t answer all your questions, but we would like to try. Here is a list of some of the common questions we hear from travelers.
Is airfare included?
No. You are responsible to get yourself to Dublin Airport for the beginning of the trip. Many travelers use this opportunity to travel to other parts of Europe.
Should I exchange my currency to euros in the US or in Ireland?
The good news is that you can use a credit card almost everywhere in Ireland, so you will not need too much cash on hand. That being said, I like to have 50 euros a day for any expense that might pop up. This is likely more than you will need and you can always get more through ATM machines or local currency exchanges. Avoid getting it in an airport where the exchange rate will be the most you pay.
What if I am a vegetarian or gluten-free?
My experience has been that Irish restaurants are more accommodating for dietary requirements than US restaurants, so there should be options on the menu, and you can always ask.
Will I have any free time?
Yes. We want you to have some independent exploration so that you can make your own Ireland story. Most of Ireland is very safe and it is an English-speaking country.
What are visa requirements for traveling to Ireland?
There are no special visa requirements for Americans traveling to Ireland. They can stay as a tourist for up to 90 days. It just requires a valid passport for the durations of travel. You can read more about it here at the US State Department website.
