Thanks for all of those who came out to see Not From Texas, John Barron’s old band, at Cafe in the Park last Friday night. Clover’s Revenge was supposed to play the gig, but because of a human resources crisis, the members of NFT dusted off the cobwebs of retirement and played a smashing performance filled with rich harmonies and some great playing by Bryce Thompson on guitar dobro. John’s wife, Lauren Wood, was incredible on the vocals.
Beau Wilberding was also asked to participate and his playing was a welcome addition to the acoustic sound. NFT played songs by the Grateful Dead, Greg Brown, Jonathan Edwards, and Cry, Cry, Cry to name a few of their influences. The band also played some originals by Bryce Thompson and John Barron.
It may be another 6 years before NFT gets back up on stage, but it was a great show enjoyed by all at the outdoor eatery.
